We all expected low-scoring contests on dust-bowls ideal for spinners. But the curators have done their job very well and have provided us with beautiful bouncing pitches with grass and bounce on them. The stadiums have enough number of pitches that this trend could continue at least for the first few weeks of the IPL before the surfaces start slowing up.
MI have already played on this ground in the opening fixture of this year’s IPL against CSK. The ball came on nicely to the bat and there was hardly any turn on offer. Although dew could be a factor and the captain winning the toss should field first.
