International career of Surya Kumar Yadav
In February 2021, he was named in India's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against England. It was his maiden international call-up to the India cricket team. He made his T20I debut for India on 14 March 2021, against England. He then played the fourth game of the series on 18 March and got his first opportunity to bat, and hit the first ball he faced in international cricket for a six to Jofra Archer and became the first Indian to do so in T20 International, and went on to score a half-century. After having a great start to his career, he was then selected in ODI squad against England. But he didn’t get a chance to play the game.
In June 2021, Surya Kumar Yadav was named in India's ODI and T20I squads for their series against Sri Lanka. He made his ODI debut on 18 July 2021, for India against Sri Lanka. On 21 July 2021, Yadav scored his maiden ODI fifty against Sri Lanka. In July 2021, Surya Kumar Yadav was called up as a replacement to India's Test squad for their series against England. In September 2021, Yadav was named in India's squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. In November, he was added to India's Test squad for their series against New Zealand. In June 2022, he was named in India's squad for their T20I series against Ireland.

The year 2022 is one of the most memorable in the life of Surya Kumar Yadav. He is in his form of his life. In July 2022, Surya Kumar Yadav scored his maiden T20I century against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, scoring 117 off 55 balls. He is only the 5th Indian player to record a century in T20I, and only the 2nd to reach the mark batting 4th or lower.
Also, in the ongoing T20 WC he is continuing his form and scoring runs by hitting in all parts of the ground. Many fans and experts have praised him and his 360- degree batting style. He scored his 2nd fastest fifty of his career in 25 balls against Netherlands. In the next match against South Africa, he scored a crucial 68 off 40 balls. He became the fastest batsman to score 1000 runs in T20I's, reaching the mark in 573 balls against South Africa. He played another best knock of his career against Zimbabwe scoring 61 off just 25 balls and also scored his fastest half century in his career and in this T20I world cup.
