Now let’s do a SWOT Analysis for the team.
Strengths
There are a lot of strengths in this team like Rohit Sharma as captain has that midas touch to win big tournaments. He is also one of the best in the world. Surya Kumar Yadav is the best T20 batter in the world and he will be raring to go in his first Asia Cup and do the best he can and give India big scores. Dinesh Karthik is in the form of his life and having Hardik Pandya bowl and bat equally well us adding a lot of balance to the team. One more big strength is the spin bowling of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin who will be able to take help from the pitches in the UAE.

Weaknesses
KL Rahul is coming after a long layoff and he looked rusty in the series against Zimbabwe so if he doesn’t perform well it could be a blow to India. The major weakness is in the bowling as the spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is not there for this tournament and even Harshal Patel is not there for this as well which weakens the bowling by a lot.

Opportunities
The biggest opportunity in this tournament is with Virat Kohli who has the Golden chance to come back to form and silence all the doubters and again be back at his very best before the World Cup. KL Rahul also has an opportunity to not become a weakness but a strength at the top of the order. Dinesh Karthik will have a big opportunity to cement his case for the World Cup squad in Australia if he does well and the fast bowlers will have the chance to show that even without Jasprit Bumrah they are a threat.

Threats
Every team in this tournament is a threat. Pakistan has some of the best players in this format and India will need to win their match to get ahead in the tournament. Sri Lanka are becoming one of the best teams in the world and they can cause a lot of upsets and India need to treat them with respect and even Bangladesh and Afghanistan with their spinners can prove to be a handful in UAE so threats are there from all sides.
