This is another different article that I am writing about and this is a good one as it deals with the best opening partnership in ODI cricket in the modern era since the last 10 years from 2013 and in this article I will talk about the journey that these two took to get there and then we will get to some of their best Partnerships in ODI Cricket as well. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are like the Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly of this generation because they have excelled so much and If they bat together for a year then I think they can surpass them.
The Journey
The journey that these 2 have been on is quite fascinating. It all started in 2013 at the Champions Trophy in England and the then captain MS Dhoni took a big gamble as he put these 2 together for the first time in that tournament and no one was sure how it would work out but as always MS Dhoni was proven right and Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan made an immediate impact as they had century run stands and from that tournament on these two have opened the batting together for 10 years. These 2 have played 2 ODI World Cups as the opening pair as they have done wonders for India. Now both are at their last stages of their ODI career so they would want to finish on a high. Now , let’s look at some of their best Partnerships.
