English legend Joe Root created history during the historic Rawalpindi ODI against Sri Lanka on Thursday, where we also experienced the fastest ODI double-century by the English skipper Harry Brook, England’s fourth-highest ODI total (429/4), and, lately, Sri Lanka’s stunning chase of the second-highest successful ODI target (430/8).
All the historic incidents happened in the important third game of the ODI tri-series after the Sri Lankan captain Kusal Mendis won the toss and chose to field first.
English skipper Harry Brook slammed the fastest ODI double hundred by completing it in just 114 balls, ultimately scoring 202 off 116 balls with 21 fours and 10 sixes. He got some strong support from the other end, including Joe Root, who scored 69 runs off 66 balls with eight fours. For the third wicket, Root and Brook had a strong 159-run partnership.
