Jhulan Goswami, the face of Indian Women's Cricket for two decades from 2002 to 2022, had retired from International Cricket recently. Jhulan Goswami was born on November 25th, 1982 in West Bengal. She was a right arm medium fast bowler and a right handed occasional batter with excellent fielding abilities. Currently she is the bowling coach of the women's cricket team. She was one of the fastest bowlers of women's cricket and is also nicknamed as Chakda express by the fans and cricket fraternity.

Career:
Jhulan Goswami, was a football fan initially, but after watching 1992 Cricket World Cup, she got interest in Cricket. She used to travel to Kolkata for training and was called up for Bengal Women's Cricket Team. Soon she made her team India ODI and Test Debut in 2002 against England in Chennai and Lucknow respectively.
In 2006-07, she was part of India's first ever test series win against England and along with Mithali Raj, she was key player. She got her career best figures of 10 for 123 in the test match. She was alss bagged ICC Women's cricketer of the year award in 2007.
In 2008, she became the captain of Team India Women, and captained the team till 2011. In 2008, she also became the only 4th women cricketer to take 100 wickets in ODI's. She's the highest wicket taker I. ODI'S in women's cricket. She was also part of Indian Women's Cricket Team which reached world cup final in 2017, but lost to England at lord's by 9 runs. In September 2018, she became the first women to take 300 wickets in international cricket. She was part of women's world cup 2022 and was also a leading wicket taker in the women's world cups.
Records:
Jhulan Goswami, has made many cricketing records over her cricketing career. Some of them are really astonishing and are almost impossible to break. Some of the records include, 2nd longest cricketing career with 19 years and 262 days. She is the youngest player to take 10 wickets in a match at the age of 23 years 277 days. She has taken most wickets as lbw in women's test and ODI's. She is the women cricketer with most balls bowled in ODI in her career with 9543 balls. She has also taken 2nd most number of catches in ODI taking 68 catches. 4 wicket hauls were quite common for her and she has taken 9 such in WODI's and she has the third highest 4 wicket haul. She had also crossed 1000 runs and 100 wickets, and 1000 runs, 50 wickets and 50 catches milestones which were crossed by very few cricketers around the world.

Awards:
Being one of the best fast bowlers of all time, Jhulan Goswami is honoured with many awards and recognitions in her cricketing career. Awards started with becoming ICC ODI cricketer of the year 2007. She was also conferred with Arjuna award in 2010 and Padma Shri award in 2012. Currently a biopic depicting the journey of The Jhulan Goswami named The Chakdah Express is being made and Anushka Sharma is portraying Jhulan Goswami in the movie.
Jhulan Goswami had a memorable cricketing career, and is now curretly appointed as Bowling consultant for India women's national team and is guiding young group of fast bowlers of India. She was the part of women's cricket when it was not even known to anyone and had played a major role in helping the establishment of women's cricket in India. She is now an inspiration to many bowlers across the world and had been a role model to women to take up sports.
