At the end of the four-team Americas Qualifier Regional Final 2023 for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, Canada ended the hosts Bermuda’s hope and qualified for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup. It will be the first time for Canada to experience a Men’s T20 World Cup.
It was the four-team double round-robin competition that ran in Bermuda between September 30 and October 7, 2023. On the last day of the competition, the Cayman Islands had a schedule against Panama, while Canada and Bermuda met in the most important game of the tournament.
While Cayman Islands vs Panama was washed out in rain, Canada vs Bermuda had an 18-over encounter. It was the must-win game for Canada, while Bermuda just had to avoid a defeat to qualify for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup. Both teams were eyeing to secure their first Men’s T20 World Cup tickets.

While Canada scored 132/4 in 18 overs, Bermuda were all out for 93 runs in 16.5 overs as Canada won by 39 runs. Although both Canada and Bermuda finished with the same nine points each, Canada had the better net run rate to earn the only spot for next year’s Men’s T20 World Cup tournament in the West Indies and USA.
