On the fifth day of the Deodhar Trophy 2023, Riyan Parag scored a firing 66-ball century, and Manisankar Murasingh had a five-wicket haul in East Zone’s crucial victory to reach the Final.
Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan’s big century helped South Zone to remain unbeaten in the tournament with a comfortable chasing. In the meantime, Mayank Markande and Mayank Yadav destroyed North East Zone.

North East Zone ended the Deodhar Trophy 2023 with all defeat results after another destructive loss against North Zone. After North East Zone chose to bat first, they were bundled out for only 101 runs in 32.1 overs. Only the skipper Langlonyamba Meitan Keishangbam (36) reached the 20-run mark in that innings.
Among the North Zone bowlers, while Mayank Markande bagged four wickets (4/14), Mayank Yadav got three wickets (3/21).
In reply, the opener Himanshu Rana (52*) and the no.3 batter Prabhsimran Singh (40*) quickly reached the target in 12.5 overs after losing only one wicket through a run-out.

The East Zone vs West Zone match was an unofficial semi-final of the tournament as the winner of the game would meet South Zone in the Final of the tournament. East Zone ultimately beat West Zone by 157 runs to reach the Final.
After East Zone chose to bat first, opener Utkarsh Singh scored 50 runs, while another opener Abhimanyu Easwaran scored 38 runs and Virat Singh scored 42 runs.
However, East Zone were once struggling at 157/5, where Riyan Parag and Kumar Kushagra had another solid partnership of 150 runs for the sixth wicket. While Kushagra scored 53 runs in 47 balls, Riyan completed his century in 66 balls and scored 102 not out in 68 balls with the help of six fours and five sixes.
Among the West Zone bowlers, in-form Shams Mulani collected three wickets (3/45).
In reply, though the opener Harvik Desai fought hard to score run-a-ball 92, extras were the second highest scorer in that innings with only 20 runs. Manisankar Murasingh led the East Zone bowling line-up from the front with 5/28 (7-1-28-5) as West Zone were all out for 162 runs. Utkarsh Singh also got three wickets in that innings (5-1-16-3).

After Central Zone chose to bat first, they scored 261/9 in 50 overs. Yash Dubey scored 77 runs in 99 balls (five fours and one six), while the opener Shivam Chaudhary scored run-a-ball 34 and lower-order batter Shivam Mavi scored 38 off 22 balls.
Among the South Zone bowlers, Mohit Redkar got three wickets (3/51), while Vasuki Koushik (2/15) and Arjun Tendulkar (2/65) bagged two wickets each.
Chasing down the target, Sai Sudharsan had a vital role with 132 not out in 136 balls with 11 fours and one six as South Zone reached the target in 48.2 overs after losing three wickets. Washington Sundar also scored 43 not out off 58 balls as he had a 114-run partnership with Sudharsan for the unbroken fourth wicket.

On Thursday (3 August), South Zone and East Zone will face each other in the Deodhar Trophy 2023 Final. Cricket Association Puducherry Siechem Ground (Puducherry) will host this day/night List A match.
