Asia Cup 2023 Final unexpectedly ended in a one-sided affair as India just thrashed the hosts Sri Lanka by ten wickets to win the new record-setting eighth Asia Cup title, including the seventh ODI Asia Cup trophy. The 29-year-old Indian right-arm fast bowler Mohammed Siraj almost single-handedly destroyed the Lankan batting line-up with a six-fer.
In the Asia Cup 2023 Final, Sri Lanka chose to bat first after winning the important toss. After a little rain interruption, the Lankan team started their batting but was bundled out for only 50 runs in 15.2 overs. It was the new lowest completed total in the ODI Asia Cup history.
