Asia Cup 2023: Complete Schedule

The complete schedule of Asia Cup 2023 has finally been released officially. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will jointly host the Asia Cup 2023 between 30 August and 17 September 2023, where six teams will participate. This Asia Cup will run in the ODI format.

It will be the 16th Asia Cup competition and the 14th in the ODI format. However, it will be the first time two countries will host an edition of the Asia Cup.

As India will host the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 between 5 October and 19 November 2023, the forthcoming Asia Cup is going to be a great preparation for the Asian teams for the upcoming Cricket World Cup.

Asia Cup 2023: Participating Teams

Apart from all the five ICC Full Members (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan), Nepal have also qualified for the Asia Cup 2023 by winning the ACC Men's Premier Cup 2023 last May.

Just like the previous two Asia Cup competitions, the 2023 edition will start with the group stage. Then, Super 4s will be played before the Final of the tournament.

Asia Cup 2023: Pakistan and Sri Lanka will jointly host this tournament

Out of 13 matches in the Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan will host four games, three in the group stage and one in the Super 4s. While Multan Cricket Stadium (Multan) will host the tournament opener, Gaddafi Stadium (Lahore) will take responsibility for the other three games.

Before the upcoming edition, Pakistan hosted only one Asia Cup edition in 2008.

In the meantime, Sri Lanka will host other nine games of the tournament, three in the group stage, five in the Super 4s and the Final. Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (Kandy) will host all the Sri Lanka-round group stage games, while R. Premadasa Stadium (Colombo) will organise all the remaining Super 4s and the Final.

It will be Sri Lanka’s first Asia Cup hosting since the 2010 edition. With the 2023 edition as the co-host, the country has hosted a total of five Asia Cup competitions.
