After doing a preview of the individual athletes for the Commonwealth Games for a number of days it’s time to talk about some of the teams that will be going to represent India in these Games and we will talk about 3 of them in a series of articles starting with the Indian cricket team for CWG 2022. This is the first time that Women’s cricket is in the Commonwealth Games and all the teams are participating and the Indian team.is going in full strength to win a medal and most preferably the Gold Medal for India but for that they will have to play very well.
We will preview the team and the mentees who can be in the Playing XI and see what are the chances that the Indian team can come back home with a medal. This is exciting for all cricket fans as they will be able to see our cricketers in action at these Games. So, let’s preview the team
Harmanpreet Kaur – Captain
She is the captain of the cricket team that will represent India at the Commonwealth Games and she is also one of the best batters in the world so she will be looking to lead from the front.
Shefali Verma- Batter
She is the most exciting player in this team for me because she can just change the course of the match in a few overs and she bats at the top of the order so she would look to give good starts to the Indian team when they play.
Smriti Mandhana – Batter
She is the other opening batter in this team and also one of the most experienced players in the team and she would be looking to attack as well and play the long innings to give India good scores throughout the competition.
S Meghna- Batter
She is also a batter in this Indian team but I don’t know how much game time she will get in the matches but when she does she will be looking to make the most of the opportunity.
Taniya Bhatia: Wicket-keeper Batter
The first of the 2 Wicket-keeper batters that are in the Indian team and she is also a very attacking batter and would look to impress with her gloves work if she is the one playing the matches and taking important Catches.
Yastika Bhatia – Wicket-keeper Batter
The other Wicket-keeper batter in the team is Yastika Bhatia and she will be looking to do the exact same thing and score lots of quick runs and take the important Catches and Stumpings when they come her way.
Deepti Sharma- All Rounder
She is one of the all rounders of this Indian team and she is a very capable batter lower down the order and also a very handy spin bowler and she has the big match experience which will help the team in this tournament.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad- All Rounder
Another all round player in this team is this left arm spinner and someone like Deepti has been playing for years for India and has taken a lot of wickets and she will be looking to do the same here as well.
Pooja Vastrakar – All Rounder
She is a fast bowling all rounder of this Indian team and she has shown that she can knock the ball a long way and her medium fast bowling can be very useful in Birmingham. She will be looking to shine.
Meghna Singh – Fast Bowler
She is the out and out fast and swing Bowler of this Indian team and she can make the ball swings born ways and she would hope to pick up early Wickets and give India the advantage in the matches.
Renuka Thakur- Fast Bowler
She is yet another fast bowler of this Indian team and she will be looking to support Meghna and keep the pressure tight on her end as well and pick Wickets along the way.
Jemimah Rodrigues – Batter
One of the best batters in the Indian team, she has so much experience playing in England that this will help India and she will hope to play long and fruitful match winning innings for India.
Radha Yadav – Spin Bowler
One of the many spin bowling options for India at these Commonwealth Games is Radha Yadav and she is also very experienced and India would like to use her services in this tournament.
Harleen Deol- Batter
She is a very good batter but she is also the best fielder in this Indian team and this team needs good fielders to take Catches and stop runs from flowing so she will be an important player.
Sneh Rana – All Rounder
The last player of the team is perhaps one of the most important as Sneh Rana can bat and bowl with equal excellence as she has shown before so she will be hoping to be at her best in this tournament as well.
Chances for India
I believe this Indian team will win a medal at these games because they are a very experienced team with good players for all departments and they will also fight for the Gold Medal hard.
