While the regular season is coming to the end but we still have a lot left to see and the rumors have surrounded the NBA and some of the top players for the entire year or even longer, we can only wonder what’s in store for this offseason. With all the big names that are free agents, all the teams are ready to sign them and make trades that will help them win the championship. Having said that let's look at the top 5 free agents that are available this year’s off-season.
5. Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler hitting the game-winner over Kyrie Irving.
Even though Philadelphia 76ers has come out and said that they would like to re-sign both Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris, there’s a very little chance of that happening. With Tobias Harris better fitting into Brett Brown’s system, there’s a chance that 76ers could go with Tobias Harris over Jimmy Butler this off-season. This would make Jimmy Butler an All-Star caliber player available for other teams to pick this free agency.
4. Kemba Walker
Kemba Walker has been dominant for Hornet’s all season long.
Kemba Walker is going to be the Hornet’s best free agent available this summer and he’s likely to get a max contract of his career this off-season. It’s about to get really depressing in Charlotte with losing out their All-Star point guard but there is also no proposition of him staying there as the team literally has very little to present with a player accompanied by his magnitude of skills and understanding of the game.
3. Kyrie Irving
2018-19 has been Kyrie’s best season so far.
The Boston Celtics best free agent available this off-season is Kyrie Irving. Well, earlier this season he verbally committed Boston Celtics to resign with them but soon after some time he was back at it and said that “I don’t owe anyone anything” and added, “Ask me again on July 1st.” Having said that this season has been his best season not only as a scorer but also as a playmaker after his 2016 season when he won the championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
2. Kawhi Leonard
Leonard has been leading the Raptors for all season long.
Kawhi Leonard is the Raptor’s best free agent available this summer. Making his return this season after his brutal injury in 2017, he seems to be back at his normal self again and making his mark by leading the Raptors to the 2nd seed in the playoffs from Eastern Conference this year. It’s kind of hard to speculate Kawhi’s future but a while back he stated that his main preferred destination would be his hometown i.e. Los Angeles and playing for the Lakers or the Clippers.
1. Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant is one of the most dominant players in the game right now.
Durant is the Warrior’s best free agent and the NBA’s best free agent available in 2019. Durant is going to be 31 this September and his game is also going to age well in his mid 30’s so getting him on 4 to 5 years max is not something one should consider the cons for but you just do it. He might also win the Finals MVP this season but it’s time that Durant should go off on his own anyway so that his career isn’t always shadowed by the fact that he can only win with the Super teams.
