One of the most revamped squads of the season. The Chicago Bulls definitely made some noise in Free Agency and has had a successful trade-in for the upcoming season. The Bulls got rid of a few players, namely Lauri Markkanen to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Tomas Satoransky to the New Orleans Pelicans to name a few.
Let us have a look at the Chicago Bulls Squad for the Upcoming Season.
Lonzo Ball – Guard
2017 No.2 overall pick, Lonzo Ball has been making strides since his Rookie Year. LA Lakers drafted him in 2017 and was shipped to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2019 in a deal surrounding the trade for Anthony Davis.
Lonzo Ball had a impressive 2020-21 season where he was averaging career highs in Points Per Game, Field Goals Percentage and Free Throw Percentages. Ball was traded to Chicago Bulls in this offseason in exchange for Garrett Temple (also via sign-and-trade), Tomas Satoransky, a 2024 second-round Draft pick and cash considerations to New Orleans as part of the deal.
Tony Bradly – Center
Entering his 4th NBA Season, Tony Bradly has been an excellent off the bench player for Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers and the OKC Thunder before signing with the Chicago Bulls this season.
Bradly averages 5.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for his career and shall be a great option behind Nikola Vucevic.
Troy Brown – Small Forward / Shooting Guard
Brown, one of the exciting prospects entering his 3rd season, was drafted as an overall 15th pick by the Washington Wizards and had an exciting sophomore year with the Washington Wizards where he averaged career best 10.4 points per game and 5,6 rebounds per game.
He was traded to the Chicago Bulls towards the end of 2020-21 regular season to the Chicago Bulls. The 22-year-old is destined to be a great pick for the Bulls and could prove a great contributor if the Bulls manage to make a deep playoff run.
Alex Caruso – Point Guard
One of the key contributors during LA Lakers run into the Playoffs. Alex Caruso’s rise from a G-League player to a NBA contributor has been one to watch for. The undrafted guards who came from the G-League with the OKC Blue, South Bay Lakers to LA Lakers and then winning a chip, a story to be remembered.
Caruso signed with the Chicago Bulls this season after having a poor season with the Lakers, but has been a key contributor on the defensive role where he averaged a career best 1.1 steals per game.
Tyler Cook – Power Forward
After going undrafted in 2019 NBA Draft, Cook signed a two-way contract with Denver Nuggets and then was traded to Cleveland Cavaliers G-League affiliate. Again in 2020, Cook resigned with Nuggets in 2020-21 season and played overall 28 games last season averaging 5.5 Points Per Game and 3.3 Rebounds per game.
DeMar DeRozan – Shooting Guard
One of the underrated moves in the offseason. The Raptors legend, DeRozen made a surprise move to the Chicago Bulls from the San Antonio Spurs where the Bulls now forms a formidable trio of DeRozen, Lavine and Vucevic which is a blockbuster of a trio considering athleticism, veteran presence and a strong rebounding athlete.
DeRozan comes off with averages of 20.1 points per game, and career high 6.9 assists in the last season with the San Antonio Spurs.
Ayo Dosunmu – Point Guard
2021 Round 2 Pick for the Chicago Bulls, Dosunmu was an overall 36th ranked player in the NBA Draft by ESPN. He appeared in the Consensus All-American squad for 2021 season.
Dosunmu is considered to be a great pickup considering his accolades in NCAA where he averaged an overall 16.7 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game and 3.9 assists per game.
Devon Dotson – Point Guard
Dotson went undrafted in 2020 NBA Draft and then signed with the Chicago Bulls on a two-way contract. He is a regular feature in the G-League affiliate Windy City Bulls.
Javonte Green – Shooting Guard
After going undrafted in 2015, Green tried his trade overseas in Bundesliga Basketball League where he became an All-Star and then signed with the Boston Celtics.
Green was then traded to Chicagoo Bulls in a three team trade deal involving Washington Wizards.
Alize Johnson – Power Forward
Second round pick for Indiana Pacers back in 2018, 25 year old Johnson has been a below par player in his career. After being shipped from Indiana Pacers to Brooklyn Nets, Johnson played 18 games for Brooklyn Nets averaging 5.2 Points Per Game and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Stanley Johnson – Small Forward
2015 Round 1 pick for the Detroit Pistons, Johnson has been an excellent role player for the Pistons where he played for 4 seasons averaging 8.5+ points per game with an excellent eye for defensive end.
He had an average 2020-21 season with the Toronto Raptors where he averaged 4.4 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game with almost 1 steal per game. Johnson was traded to the Chicago Bulls in this offseason.
Derrick Jones Jr – Small Forward
The 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Champion, Derrick Jones Jr signed with the Chicago Bulls this season after having an excellent season with the Portland Trailblazers where he averaged 6.8 points per game with a career high 31.6% three-point shooting.
With the duo of Zach Lavine and Derrick Jones Jr, we are up for high flying dunks throughout the season.
Zach Lavine – Shooting Guard
One of the players for whom the whole rebuilds actually took place at Chicago. Zach Lavine since joining the Chicago Bulls, has reformed his career onto a All-Star Level and made his 1st All-Star Team in 2021. Lavine averaged career best at 27.4 Points Per Game, 5.0 Rebounds Per Game and 4.9 Assists Per Game. He also averaged a career high 41.9% beyond the arc.

Marco Simonovic – Power Forward
Simonovic has carved his route in the NBA by playing in the European leagues. Simonovic was selected as the 44th Overall Pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and was shifted to the G-League Affiliate soon.
Matt Thomas – Shooting Guard
The 2019 EuroCup Champion, Matt Thomas went undrafted in 2017 NBA Draft and debut in the NBA in 2019 when he signed with Toronto Raptors. He was then shipped to Utah Jazz where he played 19 games last season averaging 3.6 points per game.
He signed with the Chicago Bulls this season.
Ethan Thompson – Shooting Guard’
Ethan Thompson went undrafted in the NBA Draft and then signed with Chicago Bulls in 2021. This is his rookie year in the NBA.
Nikola Vucevic – Center
a 2x NBA All-Star, Vucevic was a great pickup for the Chicago Bulls from the Orlando Magic in the past season. Vučević played and started in all 44 games and was averaging 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists, while shooting 40.6% from three-point range and 82.7% from the free throw line with the Magic for the 2020–21 season. He was the fourth leading rebounder in the league at the time.
After signing for the Chicago Bulls – Vucevic played 26 games where he averaged 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
Coby White – Point Guard
Before Lonzo Ball’s arrival, Coby White was the starting Point Guard for Chicago. The 2019 First Round Pick, Coby has been an important piece for the Bulls.
White averaged 15.1 points per game, 4.1 rebounds per game and 4.8 assists per game with 35.9% from beyond the arc.
