Sports has always brought many great life lessons which we should never forget. In the final event at the World Athletics Championships 2023 in Budapest (Hungary), the Dutch star Femke Bol created new history for her country in a special style, which we can’t forget in life.
Femke Bol fell at the last moment to deny the Netherlands’ deserving gold medal in the mixed 4 × 400 metres relay event on the opening day at the World Athletics Championships 2023. The Netherlands ultimately failed to win any medal in that event.
Later, Bol rectified her mistake in a style after winning the gold in the women’s 400m hurdles by completing that in 51.70 seconds. But the Netherlands’ gold medal in the women’s 4 × 400 metres relay event was completely different, where Bol’s unshakable determination has set up a great all-time real-life motivating story for us.
World Athletics Championships 2023: Women’s 4 × 400 Metres Relay – Dutch Femke Bol snatched away the gold medal at the last moment
It was the final event at the World Athletics Championships 2023 (August 27), where all the other 4 × 400 metres relay events’ gold medallists at the Budapest 2023, the USA team, failed to qualify for the final as they were disqualified in the heat due to faulty baton exchange.
The women’s 4 × 400 metres relay final saw a title battle, where ultimately Jamaica earned the favourite place to win the crown before the last 20m fight. Even, the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team was in second place, and the team Netherlands was battling from the third place.
However, Bol had a different plan as she gave everything to not only surpass the British Nicole Yeargin but also beat Jamaican Stacey Ann Williams just before the finishing line of the race.
