Recently, Bangkok (Thailand) successfully hosted the Asian Athletics Championships 2023. While 42 countries participated in the championships, Japan, China and India finished in respective top three positions.
The Asian Athletics Championships 2023 was the 25th edition of the continental athletics championships. Supachalasai National Stadium (Bangkok, Thailand) hosted the Championships 2023 between 12 July and 16 July 2023, where 45 medal events were completed.
1st position: Japan – 37 medals
Japan finished on top of the medal tables in the Asian Athletics Championships 2023 with 37 medals. The country won 16 golds, 11 silvers and ten bronzes.
2nd position: China – 22 medals
In the meantime, China completed as the second-best team in the Championships 2023. With eight gold medals, eight silver medals and six bronze medals, the country claimed 22 medals.
3rd position: India – 27 medals
Despite India finishing the Asian Athletics Championships 2023 with 27 medals, they ended in the third spot due to lower gold medals than China with six crowns. India won 12 silver medals and nine bronze medals to end the competition in a shining way.
The hosting country Thailand won one gold, one silver and four bronze medals to end the championships in the tenth position with a total of six medals.
The Asian Athletics Championships 2023 saw 11 new championships records and one equalizer of the championships record. Meanwhile, six athletes and two relay teams defended their titles in the latest championships.
