WWE Night of Champions PPV is in the books and it is safe to say that it is one of the best shows that WWE has done in a long time and the entire show was a blast and for 3 hours the WWE Universe in Jeddah and the fans watching at home were entertained. There were 7 Matches at this show and all the matches were good to great.
WWE has had a strong run of PPVs in the past few years and the Saudi Arabia fans brought the energy to the show and they were popping for everything and it made the show so much better.
Let’s look at the results of WWE Night of Champions:
Seth Rollins beat AJ Styles for World Heavyweight Championship
This was the first match of the show and what an absolute banger it was. Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles was supposed to be one of the matches of the year and it was exactly that as both Seth Rollins and AJ Styles were out there to prove a point and they told a good story and the Wrestling was top notch. This was the perfect opener and looking at what happened in the main event that spot was reserved for the tag team match. It was a 21 minute match and they were hitting each other with their best moves and even with those moves which they don’t generally use like AJ Styles used the Pedigree during the match and in the end after an enthralling contest it was Seth Rollins who won the World Heavyweight Championship and he became the first.
Trish Stratus beat Becky Lynch
This was the second match of the show and this was among the best women’s matches of the night and both Trish and Becky were out There to show that they are no less than anybody else. Trish Stratus still has it and she can still go in the ring and Becky Lynch was being herself and they had a 15 minutes match which told a very good story of how Trish was being a great heel and Becky Lynch was mad that her daughter was insulted and in the end it was Zoey Stark who was the difference as she helped Trish Stratus win the match. This feud is not over.
Gunther beat Mustafa Ali for Intercontinental Championship
Almost every WWE fan thought that this would be a squash match but what happened in this match was a pleasant surprise to everyone as Mustafa Ali had a real chance to win the Intercontinental Championship and WWE made the fans believe that Gunther could be beat was a really great touch. It was a 9 minute back and forth match where Mustafa Ali had great moments and he hit his finishing move but Gunther is at another level and in the end he hit the Powerbomb to win the match.
Asuka beat Bianca Belair for Raw Women’s Championship
This is one of the 2 Matches in the show where WWE shocked all the fans with the result of the match. This was a really good match between 2 wrestlers who are at the top of their game and this was a great story as there was a clear heel and face in this match and the WWE universe knew who to cheer and who to boo and Asuka was a sadistic women in this match and she has the upper hand in this match and Bianca Belair tried to win this match on a number of occasions but Asuka used her brain and she best Bianca Belair to win the Raw Women’s Championship. This was a 15 minute match.
Rhea Ripley beat Natalya for SmackDown Women’s Championship
This was a squash match and it only went 70 seconds and it went exactly how it should have as Rhea Ripley is far too dominant a champion to have a competitive match against Natalya and she absolutely destroyed Natalya and at the end she hit the Riptide to win the match.
Brock Lesnar beat Cody Rhodes
This match was far better than their first match and the length of this match was 10 minutes and for Brock Lesnar to have a match for 10 minutes at 2 PPVs against the same person says a lot about Cody Rhodes. This was a match where Cody Rhodes had a broken arm but still he was fighting and he gave such a good fight to Brock Lesnar and he used the titanium in the plaster as a weapon but in the end he passed out to the Kimura Lock and now there will be a Third match between the two at most probably SummerSlam.
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens best Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa for Undisputed WWE tag team titles
This was the main event of the show and rightfully so as there is not a better story in WWE than this Bloodline story and in this match this story took a turn that will change the Bloodline and WWE forever. Roman Reigns made his entrance and there were boos and then Sami Zayn made his entrance and the crowd lost it and they were cheering so loudly and this was a long match and Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa were dominating at the start but the tag team champions made a great comeback and then the referee got taken out but The Usos interfered and tried helping their cousins but they hit Solo Sikoa by mistake and this angered Roman Reigns who tried to bully The Usos but Jimmy Uso hit Roman Reigns with a Superkick which was heard around the world and then he hit him with one more and in the end after 27 minutes Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens win the match and The Bloodline was in shambles. Ll and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens got their revenge against Roman Reigns after years of torture.
