Every great man, so the saying goes, has a great lady behind him. Nothing is more true than in the history of professional wrestling, where some of the greatest ever had female managers, often known as valets, stand up for them.
Sensational" Sherri Martel's
Even people who are not aware of "Sensational" Sherri Martel's groundbreaking career will be able to identify her voice. She has been performing Shawn Michaels' entrance song, "Sexy Boy," when she enters the ring for HBK for years.
While Sherri the "Sensational" was more than just a voice, she was also much more and when Martel was in charge, he was effective both inside and outside of the ring. With her physical prowess and steely demeanor, she opened the way for many aspiring WWE Superstars and changed how people viewed women in the sports entertainment industry. For many of the best Superstars in the WWE, having ties to "Sensational" Sherri was advantageous, and many more had to exercise caution around her while she was in the ring.
Sherri and her career in the AWA started in the early 1980s and she won the 1985 AWA Women's Championship by outlasting Candi Devine. More than a year of their battle saw multiple championships exchange hands. As she guided "Playboy" Buddy Rose and "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers to the AWA Tag Team Championship, she started honing her managerial abilities. On June 28, 1986, Martel defeated Candi Devine to claim her third and final AWA Women's Championship contest.
The Fabulous Moolah was "Sensational" Sherri's mentor and trainer when she made her WWE debut on July 24, 1987, and she pinned him to win the Women's Championship. Debbie Combs, Velvet McIntyre, and Desiree Peterson were defeated by Sherri as she defended the gold. She gained a reputation for being someone who will do anything to succeed, including utilizing dubious methods. She and Moolah kept up their rivalry as the first female Survivor Series teams' captains in 1989. Before handing Rockin' Robin the championship, Sherri held it for 15 months.
Sensational A manager in the WWF and WCW by the name of Sherri, another name for Sherri Martel, was quite active. Among other teams and people, she was the manager of the Harlem Heat, The Rockers, The Heavenly Bodies, The Perfect Tag Team, and great singles competitors like Ric Flair, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, and the late "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
At the time, Martel had a dreadful appearance. Although, contrary to popular opinion, Sherri did it a little more frequently and a little better than Luna Vachon, who many also found to be horrifying and definitely deserved to be on this read.

Sable
Sable deserves a lot of thanks from the WWE women of today. She did, after all, epitomize what it means to be a woman in the demanding world of WWE.
Sable made her debut in 1996 when she brought a teenage Triple H to the arena at WrestleMania XII. She is breathtakingly gorgeous and fierce inside the ring and because The Game mistreated his valet and "Wildman" Marc Mero intervened to save her, their union was only temporary. As Mero temporarily held the Intercontinental Championship, the attractive duo attracted the attention of WWE fans. However, Sable continued to be in the WWE spotlight after The Wildman was sidelined in 1997 due to a knee injury, and she quickly surpassed her Superstar husband in popularity.
When Mero recovered from his wound in 1998, he was envious of Sable and bitter about her success. A split eventually formed between the two, which was signaled by Sable punching Mero in the groin and dropping a powerbomb on him that she had termed the "Sable bomb." After a protracted conflict between her and Mero and Jacqueline (who later took over as Mero's manager), Sable defeated Mero for the Women's Championship at the Survivor Series in 1998.
