The Royal Rumble is about 2 months away and there is no other WWE PPV before it so the entire focus of the fans is on the Royal Rumble and this year one of the rumors is that WWE are considering making the match a 40 person Royal Rumble. Nothing is confirmed but this has given me a good topic to write about and it is something that I am sure a lot of fellow WWE fans think about.
The Royal Rumble has traditionally been a 30 person match and it has served WWE very well but a 40 person Royal Rumble in the Triple H era could mean a lot of exciting things and more opportunities for all the talent to feature. The Royal Rumble is my favorite match of the year and I am very excited to see what Triple H does with it. So, let’s discuss the question of whether the Royal Rumble match should be a 30 person or a 40 person match.
30 Man Royal Rumble
We will write about both the types separately and give the pros and cons for the same. The 30 person Royal Rumble is traditionally the match that WWE does every year and it has proven to be a massive success for WWE in the long run. Initially there was only a 30 man Royal Rumble match where we saw some incredible moments and some jaw dropping surprises in the match. This match type has been going on for over 30 years so let’s see the pros and cons of this match type.
Pros
A 30 person Royal Rumble serves the best as it does not take that much time to complete and other title matches can also take place on this show.
30 Woman Royal Rumble matches are the best because there is already scope for so many surprises that it will be great.
It has been traditionally used and has been a massive success for WWE.
Cons
A 30 Man Royal Rumble Match does not allow all the WWE superstars who want the big opportunity to shine on the Grand stage.
A 30 Man Royal Rumble eliminates the possibility of having a lot of surprises which is the point of the Royal Rumble Match.
A 40 Woman Royal Rumble Match will allow all the women past and present and from other companies as well to celebrate women’s wrestling together which a 30 Woman Royal Rumble match will not allow.

40 Man Royal Rumble
This match concept was only used the one time and it was not handled properly at all by WWE so after that they have not used it since and I think that if Triple H can get his booking right then ur can be the greatest Royal Rumble Matches of all time and he will have time to really shock the fans. So, let’s now see the pros and cons for a 40 person Royal Rumble Match

A 40 Man Royal Rumble Match will allow for more WWE superstars who generally do not get the opportunity to shine on PPV to have their moment and they will be able to show their skills
A 40 Person Royal Rumble Match allows for more surprises in the match and the fans can lose their minds a lot more times which is the whole point of the Royal Rumble Match.
A 40 person Royal Rumble Match also helps the fans get to know a lot of the wrestlers better and more storylines can be sown our on the Road to WrestleMania
Cons
A 40 person Royal Rumble Match takes too much time to happen and it can break the flow of the show and now that there are 2 Royal Rumble Matches in 1 night then there would be no time for other high profile matches.
There are more chances that the crowd becomes less invested in a 40 person Royal Rumble match as there will be so many entrants that they will lose their energy to care about the match.
A 40 person Royal Rumble match is something that can fail on a big level like the one time that WWE did and it failed so the risk is High.
