The Royal Rumble for the year 2022 has just concluded and it is in the history books and we are here to give all our readers the results of it but since it is a massive PPV event, Two parts will be needed to give justice to this topic. This event is always entertaining and this year was no different as there were some big surprise entrants in both the Royal Rumble matches.
In part 1 of two articles we will discuss the Women’s Royal Rumble match, The Raw Women’s championship match and the Mixed tag team match between Edge and Beth Phoenix vs The Miz and Mary’s. All three of these matches featured lots of amazing women who showcased their skills to the entire world and women’s wrestling was elevated tonight. So, let’s take a look at how these matches went.
Women’s Royal Rumble match
The first match that we will talk about is the Women’s Royal Rumble match which was the second match of the show and the Rumble match started with a bang as Sasha Banks was entrant number 1 in the match and then at number 2 , Melina returned after years to WWE but was quickly eliminated by Sasha. Then Aliyah and Liv Morgan entered at numbers 5 and 6 and they were the young stars who shined in thus match. Then at number 8 Bianca Belair entered the match and the mood of the match changed. Among the legends Michelle McCool was one of the standouts as she looked like she does this everyday. Then Sonya Deville and Naomi progressed their story further as both of them eliminated the other one from the match. At number 17, one of the favorites Charlotte Flair came to the ring and she dominated the match. Then came a moment no one thought was possible, The Women’s Champion from Impact Wrestling cane to her new theme song Hardcore country and Mickie James made history at this moment. At number 25 , Sarah Logan returned to WWE in a surprise entrant and it was good to see her back again. After all this had happened then came the most shocking moment of the Royal Rumble when at number 28, Ronda Rousey returned after 3 years and was in fight mode from the start and she and Charlotte Flair were the last 2 left and finally Ronda Rousey won the Royal Rumble match to the happiness of the fans.
Raw Women’s championship
After the Royal Rumble match had happened z it was the turn of Becky Lynch and Doudrop to shine in front of everyone and especially for Doudrop as this was the biggest match of her career and she did really well and they had an outstanding match between them consisting of near falls from both women and after around 12-13 minutes Becky Lynch hit the manhandle slam from the middle rope to put away the worthy challenger in Doudrop.
Edge and Beth Phoenix vs The Miz and Maryse
This was the co main event of the show just before the Men’s Royal Rumble match and this was a really good match where Miz and Maryse were excellent heels throughout the match and annoying the fans vey easily and doing their job expertly. The entrance by Edge and Beth Phoenix was a sight to behold as they were looking like two scary hall of Famers and they were ready to punish Miz and Maryse for their sins. At first the heels smartly took control for some time in the match and then Edge and Beth Phoenix started the comeback and the crowd got more into it but Miz and Maryse would use underhanded tactics every time but their fate was sealed by the double GlamSlam by the Grit couple and they won the match and gave happiness to all their fans.
