This was the last PPV event for NXT in 2022 and I have to say that this was one of their best shows of the year. The event consisted of 5 matches and we had the first 2 Iron Survivor matches as well as 2 title matches on this show. Slowly this NXT roster is coming on its own and in 2023 I think they will have their breakout year.
This show flew by at a fast speed and 2 and a half hours felt like nothing and this speaks to the quality of the show and how good it was. All 5 matches were delivered and when the next NXT PPV comes in 2023 then the crowds will want to go back and buy tickets to see them wrestle. So, let’s look at the results of NXT Deadline
Women’s Iron Survivor Match
The first match of the show was the Women’s Iron Survivor Match and first let me tell you about the rules of this new match. In this match there are 5 competitors who participate and this match has a time limit of 25 minutes and at first 2 wrestlers start and every 5 minutes the other 3 wrestlers enter the match. When a fall is scored then the wrestler who was pinned goes to the penalty box for 90 seconds and finally after 25 minutes the wrestler with the most falls wins.
In the Women’s Iron Survivor Match we had Roxanne Perez, Cora Jade, Indi Hartwell, Zoey Stark and Kiana James. It was a very good match and they sold ne on the concept and almost all the wrestlers got a fall and in the end it was Roxanne Perez who got 2 falls and was the Iron Survivor and she is the new number 1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Alba Fyre vs Isla Dawn
This was the match that followed the match and this was a mistake that happened as 2 women’s matches should not happened back to back. This match was good but it could have been much more and both wrestlers gave it their all and Isla Dawn got the win and she has the momentum and Alba Fyre will go to the main roster.
The New Day vs Pretty Deadly – NXT Tag Team Titles
This match was the best match of the night till now and it was The New Day vs Pretty Deadly as it was an excellent tag team match. It was a big deal that New Day were in this match and Pretty Deadly gained a lot by being in the ring with New Day and they used every trick in the book to win but in the end New Day won the match and are the new NXT Tag Team Champions and Pretty Deadly are ready for the main roster.
Men’s Iron Survivor Match
This is the match that proved that this new concept of the Iron Survivor Challenge is a brilliant idea. This match had Axiom, Carmelo Hayes, Grayson Waller, JD McDonagh and Joe Gacy. Axiom and JD McDonagh were the first 2 wrestlers in the match and for 5 minutes they went at it and the crowd was losing their minds. Then Carmelo Hayes entered the match and the quality of the match went sky high and then the falls started happening fast and then Grayson Waller entered and quickly got 2 falls and then the match got into high gear as Joe Gacy entered the match and all wrestlers got 2 falls each other than JD McDonagh. In the evd Grayson Waller got the last fall and won the match
Bron Breakker vs Apollo Crews – NXT Championship
This was the last match on the show and it was a great one as Bron Breakker is becoming the next in NXT and a great champion. Apollo Crews gave Bron everything he could handle and more and still in the end Bron Breakker won the match and is still NXT Champion and now Grayson Waller Waits for him .
