Jinder Mahal is a living example of a real-life hero. He has represented and made India proud in the WWE. For a long time, people used to know about Khali being the only Indian to have featured in WWE. None other than him could reach and scale heights in WWE. Then came this man- Jinder Mahal.
Initially, Mahal did not enjoy much success. His physique was ordinary just like any other Cruiserweight wrestler. Night after night, he used to suffer losses and humiliation. He joined hands with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre to form the three men band or 3MB. They used to entertain the people and occasionally got beaten up by other wrestlers. After some time, he left WWE and returned back to the Independent Circuit.
Mahal returned and surprised everyone in 2016. His physique had changed and he was excessively bulky and muscular. He paired with Rusev and gained some success. However, it was last year in 2017, his fate had changed altogether. He is currently having a dream run in the company. He competed in a six pack match to become the number one contender for the WWE Championship.
He was accompanied by Sunil Singh and Samir Singh. Ever since then, he has mastered the role of a villain in WWE. HE defeated Randy Orton to become the first ever Indian born WWE Champion in the world. He held the title for 170 days and defeated several wrestlers to retain his Championship. He even marred the Money in the Bank contract cash-in attempt by Baron Corbin.
Corbin feuded with Randy Orton, Mojo Rawley, AJ Styles and several others. He has perfected him to perfection. His cheap shots and promos were well received by audiences. He used to tell everyone how great India is and how he represents 1.2 Billion people.
He finally lost the title to AJ Styles. Mahal then fought and became a contender for the United States Championship. At WrestleMania 34, he defeated Randy Orton, Bobby Roode, and Rusev to become the United States Champion for the first time. He then got drafted to RAW and lost the title to Jeff Hardy. However, Mahal is a fighter and entered into a brawl with Roman Reigns. He cost Reigns his Money in the Bank qualifying match by attacking him.
However, Reigns beat Mahal and speared him into a wall. But, that didn't stop Mahal. Instead, he picked up a chair and beat the hell out of Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. He has made a claim, that by the end of this year, he will become a grand-slam Champion in the WWE.
Mahal has certainly made an unbelievable impact for himself in the WWE. From nowhere to everywhere he is now- posters, main-event, TV shows, he has become a force to reckon with. He has toured several continents and is the best heel WWE has seen in the last decade or so. Even Roman Reigns, being a face, is getting flak, but Mahal is getting the appreciation for his efforts.
This shows, that he is the face that runs the show. He has become larger than life superstar. From a jobber, he has become the go-to guy of WWE. We wish him loads of success for his upcoming future.
