SummerSlam is one of the 3 Biggest events of the year for WWE and it has been going on for over 35 years and it has attained a cult status among the WWE fans because this was a big part of their childhoods and still is for the younger WWE fans. And among the 35 SummerSlams that have taken place In WWE history, there have been some truly special ones that have happened and they are remembered even today by the WWE universe.

So, let’s look at the Top 5 Best SummerSlam Events in WWE history and let’s look at what made these so great.


1) SummerSlam 2002

Without a doubt the greatest SummerSlam event of all time. WWE fans can argue about almost anything but almost everyone is on the same page that SummerSlam 2002 is the best of all time. All the matches on the show were great starting with Rey Mysterio vs Kurt Angle In a great match and then it was Shawn Michaels vs Triple H and finally in the main event it was The Rock vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship and that was a banger. SummerSlam 2002 is hard to top but Triple H will try to top it with his first SummerSlam as the creative head.


2) SummerSlam 2013


The second best SummerSlam was the one where the Yes Movement started for Daniel Bryan and it was a show that had excellent Matches all around. Some of them were Alberto Del Rio vs Christian for the World Heavyweight Championship and this was a match that not a lot of people talk about today but it was great. And then there was the 25 minutes all time classic match between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar in what still is one of the best matches In the career of Brock Lesnar. And in the main event it was John Cena vs Daniel Bryan and it was a 5 star classic and Daniel Bryan won the WWE Championship only to lose it to Randy Orton.


3) SummerSlam 1992


This list will be incomplete without mentioning probably the most talked about SummerSlam of all time which was the 1992 edition which was held at the Wembley Stadium and the match card was stacked. Shawn Michaels took on Rick Martel had a good match and Randy Savage took on The Ultimate Warrior for the WWE Championship ik a match fit for these 2 legends but it was the main event of between Bret Hart vs British Bulldog that this SummerSlam is on this list and this match was for the Intercontinental Championship and this is one of the all time great matches in WWE history.


4) SummerSlam 2000


This is the 4th best SummerSlams of all time and this was during the Attitude Era where the wrestling scene was hot and the card was awesome. The star of the show was the first ever TLC Match between The Hardy Boys vs The Dudley Boys vs Edge and Christian and this was a show stealer as they are known to do. The Undertaker took on Kane in a great match but it was a no contest and the main event was a triple Threat match between The Rock vs Triple H vs Kurt Angle and this lived up to the hype and The Rock won this match.


5) SummerSlam 2022


The SummerSlam that was held last year is also one of the best events to be held in its history. Becky Lynch faced Bianca Belair in an instant classic as these 2 women gave it their all and it was a match that was the best women’s match last year and after the match Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai returned and the landscape of WWE changed. Then Logan Paul took on The Miz im a great match and in that match Logan Paul showed the world that he is a very good wrestler. The Usos had a tag team Banger match against The Street Profits and in the main event it was Roman Reigns vs Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match and this one was the best last man standing match in WWE history and a fitting end to an incredible show.
