Raducanu caught everyone's eyes with her sensational performance in the grand slam. She made her WTA tour main draw debut at the 2021 Nottingham Open. Winning that tournament helped her qualify for the 2021 Wimbledon championship as a wildcard contestant.

In the first round, she defeated V. Diatchenko by (7(7)-6(4),6-0). The first set went to tiebreaker but in the second set she ran riot past her opponent. This was her first grand slam in her career and she eased past to the next round. In the second round, she defeated M. Vondrousova by (6-2,6-4). Another straight set win for Raducanu . Her beautiful display started to grab everyone's eyes and being a British she already started becoming everyone's favourite. By reaching the third round of the tournament she was already a record holder of being the youngest British player to reach the third round in this championship. By reaching the fourth round, she became the youngest British to reach this stage in the open era. Another day , another record.

In the fourth round, she faced A. Tomljanovic and unfortunately she had to retire for breathing problems. Everyone was shocked and disappointed but sportsperson from different field stood by her side. The 18 year old was seen clearly struggling, clutching her stomach and gasping for breath. After some super intense rallies , she started to breathe heavily and felt dizzy. The medical team advised her not to carry on.
