In the women's 50m rifle three positions at the Asian Games 2023, India won a silver medal in the team event while winning gold and bronze medals in the individual event.

On Wednesday (September 27), Sift Kaur Samra brought out India’s first individual gold medal in the ongoing 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, after winning the crown in the women's 50m rifle three positions individual event. To achieve that medal, she also created a new World Record with 469.6 points. The previous World Record holder in the event was British Seonaid McIntosh (467.0), which she achieved last May at Baku.
Meanwhile, in the same women's 50m rifle three positions individual event, another Indian Ashi Chouksey also won the bronze medal with 451.9 points.
In the meantime, Chinese Qiongyue Zhang (462.3) secured the silver medal in the women's 50m rifle three positions individual event.

Earlier, in the women's 50m rifle three positions team event and individual qualifying round, Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey, and Manini Kaushik together guided India to win a silver medal. While China won the gold medal (1773-98x), India won the silver medal with a combined score of 1764 (83x). Meanwhile, the Republic of Korea or South Korean team (1756-78x) also managed the podium finish with the bronze medal.
For the Indian team, Sift scored 594 points (28x), while Ashi and Manini had scores of 590 (27x) and 580 (28x), respectively.
