India U-17 Mens Team announces squad for friendlies against Qatar U-17 Mens Team

Head coach Bibiano Fernandes announces the 23-member squad of the India U-17 men’s national team set to play two friendlies against the Qatar men’s U-17 team in Doha at the end of this month. This set of friendlies will be part of the preparation for the AFC U-17 Men’s Asian Cup. The Blue colts will be producing their best in these preparatory games before they head to Thailand for the main tournament beginning in May.

 

Preparation


After qualifying for the Asian Cup last year, the India U-17 men’s national team played three friendlies in January prior to facing the Qatar men’s U-17 team. Bibiano’s boys traveled to UAE to face the nation’s U-20 side and lost narrowly by 1-0. They returned to India to face Uzbekistan U-17 men’s team in two friendlies hosted in Goa. The Blue colts won the first game with a 2-0 margin but suffered a sour 3-0 defeat in the next one.

Fixtures:


India U-17 men’s team will travel to Doha to play the friendlies against the Qatar men’s U-17 team with the first one commencing on Saturday, 25th February 2023. Two days later on Tuesday, 28 February 2023, they will play the last friendly game against the host before returning back to training in India.
