IPL never goes offseason as franchises look to rebuild their teams for the next season. These trades depend on various factors such as team combination, home conditions, remaining funds and foreign players. After the setbacks from the previous season the focus shifts to jotting out a clear plan for the next one.

Vivo IPL 2020 trade window kicked off with a bang. Leg spinner Mayank Markande is all set to represent Delhi Capitals in Vivo IPL 2020 after being traded by Mumbai Indians. Back in 2018,  he was bought by Mumbai Indians for 20 lakhs and had a dream debut against CSK where he picked 3 wickets which included Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav and M.S Dhoni.

The Delhi franchise have traded Sherfane Rutherford, the West Indies batsmen to Mumbai Indians. The batsmen is known for his big-hitting abilities. He maintained a strike-rate of 142.5 in CPL 2018 and was brought by Delhi Capitals for 2 crores in 2019.

1) Ajinkya Rahane

Rajasthan Royals seemingly picked Ajinkya Rahane as their brand ambassador. Every franchise wants a big Indian name, for Rajasthan it was Rahane. According to sources, Rahane could turn out for Delhi Capitals at IPL 2020. Rahane has been a crucial player for Rajasthan Royals.

Speaking to IANS, sources revealed that talks are on and if all goes well Rahane might play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020.

"DC is trying to get Rahane onboard, but it's too early to say if the deal will see the light of the day. A lot of things need to be taken care of before the dotted line is signed. RR's take on the whole issue can also not be discounted since he has been a huge ambassador for them. But yes, talks are on," the source said. If the move goes ahead, it could be major boost for DC. Last they brought in Shikhar Dhawan from SRH.

Rahane has played for Mumbai Indians in 2008 and 2009 and skipped the 2010 edition before joining Rajasthan. Rahane was the vital part for Rajasthan. But it seems things are not going to remain the same next season.

2) R. Ashwin

After Rahane, Ashwin is the second big name who could be released by the franchise. KXIPKXIP bought Ashwin for 7.6 crores in 2018 mega auction and named him the captain but KXIP had disappointing seasons as they finished 7th in season 11 and 6th in season 12.

DC official told IANS that "it was a work in progress and we were waiting for the signature of one of the KXIP directors before going ahead with the deal. The team management believes looking at the last season that he can play an integral role on the kind of wickets that we play on at home,".

Other reports suggest that KXIP are also in talks with Rajasthan Royals to bring Ashwin to their squad. Earlier Ashwin was part of CSK and then of Pune before he was bought by KXIP. OverallOverall, Ashwin took 125 wickets in 139 IPL matches at an economy rate of 6.79.

3) Robin Uthappa

Strings of low scores and sluggish batting, he scored 9 runs in 20 balls while chasing 214.

Robin Uthappa doesn't seem to be a good value for the Kolkata franchise. He scored just 282 runs in 11 innings. And because of his poor performance, he isn't confirmed starter and trading him with some youngster would be more appropriate for KKR.

4) Karun Nair

After scoring triple century in the longest format of the game, Karun Nair has gone haywire. He lost his place to Hanuma Vihari and it seems it has affected his overall career. Nair was bought by KXIP in 2018 mega auction. His position was always a point of debate and he scored 300 runs in 13 games in 2018.

He played just one match in 2019 as Mayank Agarwal was injured and scored 5 of 6 balls. KXIP tried Mandeep Singh, Sarfarz Khan and Nicolas Pooran ahead of Nair.

According to reports, SRH and Rajasthan are interested in Karnataka's batsmen as they look to solidify their middle order.

5) Lockie Ferguson

CSK, the best team of IPL, lacks in their bowling department. CSK does not have any experienced fast bowler. Their team always revolve around spinners.

Due to unavailability of David Willey and injury of Lungi Ngidi, CSK played the whole season with Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur and struggled in death overs.

They have always tried to strengthen their pace attack by going for Mohamed Shami and Jaydev Unadkat in the auctions but they failed twice buying them.

According to the reports, CSK is talking with Ferguson for the upcoming season of IPL. He was brilliant for the Black Caps and ended with 21 wickets in 9 matches. His raw pace and bounce troubled the batsmen. If the deal goes ahead, it could be a major boost for CSK's bowling line up.
