Singapore Grand Prix 2022 Results

We are back with yet another Formula 1 Race and it has been a while since we had a race and what a race to come back from . It was a race which had everything, from surprise winners to surprise losers as well. It was an exciting race to watch as all the drivers were in the mood to give the fans something special despite all the rain and the weather issues around. It was important for Max Verstappen to win this because it would have been he would have one hand on the title with this win but this was a tricky race.

Formula 1 was back at its best and this race was not without its controversies and in the qualifying it was Charles Leclerc who got the better of Max Verstappen and took P1 and Max got P2. It was shaping up to be a classic and boy did it deliver. So, without wasting anymore time let’s talk about the race


Race Results

It was a dream start for Sergio Perez who got to P1 at the start and Max Verstappen had the worst possible start as he was pushed back to P12 and it was an uphill task for him. Max Verstappen has got to P10 in Lap 3 and Sebastian Vettel who likes this circuit moves up 5 places to P8. It is Lap 5 and Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc have established a healthy lead in the race and P3 is 5 seconds behind them. Lap 7 and Kevin Magnussen has to pit and change his tyres and Zhou Guanyu is also out of the race. Lap 9 and Nicholas Latifi were forced to retire from this race as well. Lap 18 and it is a tussle between Max and Fernando Alonso. Lap 22 and sadly Fernando Alonso is out in his 350th race in his career.

Lap 23 and George Russell takes the risk of pitting for medium tyres. Lap 25 and Virtual Safety Car is back again and again the drivers have to stop racing. Alexander Albon is also out of the race and Williams have a horrific night. Lap 28 and Esteban Ocon is also out of the race and virtual safety car is out again. Lap 34 and Lewis Hamilton has to be called back to change his tyres. Lap 35 and Sergio Perez after pitting has a 11 second lead of the Race. Lap 36 and Yuki Tsunoda is out after crashing and this time a full safety car is out. Lap 40 and Max Verstappen is down at P8 and he will have to pit. Lap 45 and it is Charles Leclerc chasing down Sergio Perez for the lead of the Race and it is exciting to watch.

Lap 46 and both McClaren drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo sit in P4 and 5. Lap 47 and Sergio Perez breaks the DRS from Charles Leclerc. Lap 51 and Sergio Perez is 3 seconds ahead but he will be investigated later for a safety car violation. Lap 54 and 12 World Championships are fighting for P12. In the end it was Sergio Perez who wins the Singapore Grand Prix and even after the 5 second penalty was on him he kept his win. A perfect drive by the Red Bull driver.
