Hyderabad cricketer Ravi Teja set up the new bowling figures record in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) history as the right-arm medium bowler’s 6-fer also became the second-best T20 bowling performance in the Indian cricket history.
It was a SMAT 2023/24 match between Chhattisgarh and Hyderabad in Jaipur on October 19. Ravi Teja was the star for Hyderabad in that low-scoring match.
Ravi Teja 6/13: 3 wickets in the first over, including a wicket on the first ball
After Hyderabad chose to field first, Ravi Teja dominated from the first ball. He took three wickets in the first over of the match, including a first-ball wicket. The right-arm medium bowler finished with the bowling figures 4-0-13-6 as Chhattisgarh were bundled out for only 97 runs in 19.1 overs.
Only the no.4 batter Shashank Singh batted strongly in the first innings by scoring 51 runs in 47 balls with the help of five fours. He was also a victim of Ravi Teja’s great bowling performance.
In reply, Hyderabad chased down the low target in 16 overs after losing four wickets.
