The 28-year-old South Africa-born Middlesex cricketer Stephen Eskinazi recently created a new world record by scoring three consecutive 130+ scores in List A format.
In the Royal London One-Day Cup 2022, Middlesex captain and the right-handed opening batter Stephen Eskinazi recently hit three consecutive List A centuries.
Stephen Eskinazi scored 146*, 182 and 135 runs
On August 7, Eskinazi scored a match-winning 146 not out off 132 balls (13 fours and 4 sixes) to help his team successfully chase the 269 runs target (271/1 in 41.4 overs) against Durham at Chester-le-Street.
Three days later (August 10), captain Eskinazi scored 182 off 136 balls (17 fours and 6 sixes) that helped his Middlesex to manage the match-winning first innings total of 351/7 (50 overs) against Surrey at Radlett.
On August 12, Middlesex managed another match-winning 350+ first innings total against Nottinghamshire at Grantham by scoring 355 runs in 49.4 overs, thanks to their twin centuries. Apart from the no.3 batter Sam Robson’s 103 runs, opener and skipper Eskinazi scored another century by managing 135 runs off 104 balls (18 fours and only six).
During that Nottinghamshire game, Eskinazi became the first List A cricketer to record three consecutive 130+ scores.
It was also his sixth consecutive 50+ score in the one-day cricket format. Before that world record of three consecutive 130+ scores, he also scored 52 not out and 79 runs respectively for England Lions against South Africans and then 56 runs for Middlesex against Leicestershire in the ongoing Royal London One-Day Cup 2022. So, the Middlesex captain Eskinazi is currently in incredible form with the bat.
However, on August 14, Eskinazi’s 50+ scores streak in one-day cricket has been broken after the skipper was bowled for 21 runs against Somerset at Taunton. But, his team still managed to claim a thrilling win by chasing 336 runs in the last over with only one wicket remaining (336/9 in 49.2 overs).
