The much anticipated Indian team for the Sri Lankan series was announced yesterday and this team was awaited so much because this team would dictate the further course of how T20I cricket will be played by the Indian team going forward. There were some big newsprints that came out of this team and we will talk all about it below
I really like this new team and this new thinking by the selectors and they have decided to have a 2 year roadmap for the T20I World Cup in 2024. All these players should get a proper run with the team and then when the T20I World Cup arrives then the Indian team will be ready. So, let’s look at the team

What this Team means
There are a lot of newsprints that are seen In the team that has been selected and a lot of big decisions appeared to have been taken and in the right direction. So, let’s look at them
Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul most likely have played their last T20I match for India and they will no longer play in the shortest format for India.
Rishabh Pant has been dropped from the T20I side owing to his bad performances over a long period of time and hopefully he can make a comeback as he is very young.
Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Dinesh Karthik also look like to have played their last T20I Match for India and it looks like the seniors are being phased out of the team.
The decision of making Hardik Pandya the captain of the team is a sign of a new direction that the team will go forward and hopefully play a more fearless style of cricket.
Having so many young talented players playing in the team will give the team management a lot of room to properly build a team for the next T20I World Cup in 2024.
