India’s T20I and ODI squads for New Zealand tour of India were announced yesterday. One series is about to get over and immediately after that another series against another top nation is on the horizon and this time it will be New Zealand who are the number 1 ODI team in the world will come to India on the back of a fantastic ODI Series win in Pakistan and will look to challenge India and get the much needed exposure of the conditions before the ODI World Cup later this year. And the Indian teams for the ODI and T20I series were announced yesterday.

1) Prithvi Shaw has been given a well deserved call up to the Indian team and he has been performing consistently for a long period of time.
2) There are no signs of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul so it looks like these 3 batters have been told to focus on ODI and Test Cricket.
3) There is no Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravichandran Ashwin so it means that the team management has looked beyond them in this format.
4) Kuldeep Yadav has earned his place back in the T20I team and it will be a good battle between the two leg spinners.
5) The selectors and the team management are going ahead with this young set of players till the 2024 T20I World Cup and that is a good sign of not looking back.

2) KS Bharat and Shahbaz Ahmed are like for like replacements for KL Rahul and Axar Patel.
