The most awaited series has started between the two best teams in the world when India has begun the long tour to Australia with the first ODI game at Sydney. However, the last international series India played against New Zealand earlier this year in the month of January and after the whole cricketing world has been affected by pandemic and hardly there was international cricket played among teams. In this first ODI game of the series, the home team Australia quite easily won the game by 66 runs and took the 1-0 lead in the series.

With team India it was a complete disaster performance from batting to poor fielding to absurd bowling from the frontline bowlers with whom expectations were high. Team India has to come with the strategy in the next game to keep the series alive or it will be difficult for them. Michael Vaughan while tweeted about the team India performance –

“India’s over rate is appalling ... !!! Body language defensive ... fielding is my standard (shocking) ... Bowling ordinary !!! Aussies on the other hand have been outstanding ... Long tour for India me thinks ..."

Michael Vaughan Reckons Australia Will Easily Win Every Series Against India On The Tour:

After losing the first game of 3-match series it's obvious there is question over the strategy and plans implemented by team India against Australia. In the batting there is only Virat Kohli whom India can rely on every equation apart from the other players in the team. Shreyas Iyer is on his first tour nothing much team can expect from him while Shikhar Dhawan is the second player next to Captain who looked dependable in this side and has scored 74 runs but he didn't get support from captain and other players to help the team.

Even in the middle order team India don't have quality all-rounders like Suresh Raina or Yuvraj Singh to finish the game on his own after the early hiccups. KL Rahul was sent into bat at number 5 which was another wrong decision team India should have opened with KL Rahul (with the kind of form he has been in recent times) rather Mayank Aggarwal in the coming games. Hardik Pandya showed some intent with his hard-hitting power but chasing 375 was not easy when the team lost 4 wickets at the score of 101 runs. Michael Vaughan further added,

“This Indian ODI team is old school for me .... Just 5 bowling options & the batting isn’t deep enough !!!" Early call ... I think Australia will beat India this tour in all formats convincingly ..."

With the second game on Sunday at the same venue Sydney and the final ODI game at Canberra (both the matches will be day and night games). The T20 series will start from 4 December when two teams lock horns at Canberra for the first T20 game.
