Australia vs India 2020 – Gautam Gambhir Reckons, Virat kohli Should Not Be The Captain Anymore It's Not A T-20 Cricket

Australia's team proved once again why they are the most dangerous team in their own territory with the victory in the second ODI at Sydney (SCG) to seal the series with one more game to go at Canberra. It was Australia exhibition from the crazy batting from their class players David Warner (83), Aaron Finch (60), Steve Smith(104), Marnus Labuschagne (70) and Glenn Maxwell remained not out at 63* to help to post 389 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the 50 overs. With Indian batting it was the same stuff from the last game too much depended on Virat kohli performance and he has scored 89 runs without getting the support from other players expect KL Rahul who scored 76 runs (in such a high scoring game player like KL Rahul should open the innings and if that runs have came in the early overs India could’ve win the match).

There is nothing much India can do with their bowling line-up who are having less experience while playing in the Australian conditions. It’s another surprise that Virat kohli has come to Australia without the quality bowling pairs either in the fast bowling or spin division. Earlier there was the statement from the former England captain Michael Vaughan “Team won't survive against Australia on the tour". Now the former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir raises the question over the captaincy of Virat Kohli after the team India has won their second game in a row. In a conversation on ESPN Gautam Gambhir said

"I can't understand the captaincy, to be honest. We kept talking about how important it is to take wickets upfront if we have to stop this kind of batting line-up and then you make your premier bowler bowl two overs. Normally, in a One Day game probably there are three spells of 4-3-3 overs. Or probably the maximum is four overs," Gautam Gambhir told ESPNCricinfo.

"But if you stop your premier fast bowler just by bowling two overs upfront with the news, I can't understand that kind of captaincy. I probably can't even explain that captaincy. It is not T20 cricket. I probably can't understand the reason to be honest because that was poor captaincy," Gautam Gambhir added.

Gautam Gambhir says team India Don’t Have Genuine all-rounder:

In the two ODI games team India was playing with four regular bowlers and in the all rounder they have only Jadeja who was too expensive and Pandaya ( he is not fit to bowl). It is just the start of the tour and with these bowling options team India will be having tough times ahead. Gautam Gambhir raises the question over the same team in the second ODI with the same result.

“They could have given someone like Washington Sundar or Shivam Dube or whoever was there in the squad to play the next game and see how they go into the one-day format. But if you don't have anyone in Australia then it is a selection error as well," said Gautam Gambhir.

"Unless and until you don't judge someone you will never be able to find how good he is at the international level. India has not taken those options to Australia and those might come back to hurt them big time," Gautam Gambhir added.

What’s Next:

The last game of 3-match series will be at Canberra on 2nd December where the Australia team has never lost the match and the T20 series will start from 4 December with day and night matches at Canberra. Team India has to come with the strong strategy in the next games ahead on the tour to expect different results.
