One of the most reputed clubs in the NBA, the Boston Celtics have a rich history to their name. The Celtics have 17 championships to their name, being the team with most NBA championships to their name. The Lakers are right behind them with 16 but that seems like it'll change soon enough.
Back in the 60's was when the domination of the Celtics began with Bill Russell. With 13 seasons in the NBA with the Celtics, Russell brought home 11 championships to their name. And then in the 80's were Larry Bird and the Celtics along with Robert Parish and Kevin McHale.
Bird was a sharpshooting wing player who had two all-star veterans under the rim to grab the rebound if he ever missed which rarely happened. They also had a strong Point Guard in Dennis Johnson and a very capable Danny Ainge at the other Guard position. This core was able to bring 3 championships to the Celtics team and Bird became one of the best scorers in all-time history.
Currently the Celtics traded their star for another in Kemba Walker and are invested in their young rookies in Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum. Brown is an excellent slasher who knows how to finish at the rim and Tatum is slowly developing into a star and will most likely lead the Celtics in the coming years.
But for now, the Celtics too are not in contention for the title this year or the next, though anything after that can be possible.
