  • ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 experienced 159 50+ scores. It is also the record for most 50+ scores in a single edition of the ODI World Cup. The previous record was 149 50+ scores at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.  

  • Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell recorded the highest individual score in the ODI chasing history as he became the first batter to score an ODI double-century at chasing. Against Afghanistan in the league stage at ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, Maxwell scored 201 not out.

Devon Conway (New Zealand) – 152* vs England

During the tournament opener, New Zealand thrashed the defending champions England, where the opener Devon Conway and the no.3 batter Rachin Ravindra set up an unbroken 273-run partnership for the second wicket. Both players scored centuries in that 283-run chase, where Conway remained not out on 152 runs in 121 balls (19 fours and three sixes). 

David Warner (Australia) – 163 vs Pakistan

Against Pakistan at Bengaluru, Australian opener David Warner smashed 163 runs in 124 balls (14 fours and nine sixes). In the first innings of the match, Warner and Mitchell Marsh had a 259-run opening partnership, where both the openers scored centuries. While Australia scored 367/9 in 50 overs, Pakistan were all out for 305 runs.

Quinton de Kock (South Africa) – 174 vs Bangladesh

During the match against Bangladesh, while South Africa scored 382/5 in 50 overs, the wicketkeeper-batter and opener Quinton de Kock scored 174 runs in 140 balls with the help of 15 fours and seven sixes.

Mitchell Marsh (Australia) – 177* vs Bangladesh

Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh batted strongly at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, and he was outstanding against Bangladesh. Chasing down the 307-run target, Marsh scored 177 not out in 132 balls with the help of 17 fours and nine sixes, as the Aussies reached the target in 44.4 overs after losing two wickets.

Glenn Maxwell (Australia) – 201* vs Afghanistan

Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell produced a special and unforgettable performance against Afghanistan at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. Despite a massive adverse situation, where the Aussies were struggling at 91/7 in the chasing of 292 runs, and Maxwell was later struggling with back spasms and severe cramps, the Aussies pulled off a remarkable victory. Maxwell scored 201 not out in 128 balls with the help of 21 fours and ten sixes. Maxwell and the skipper Pat Cummins had a 202-run partnership for the unbroken eighth wicket to snatch a remarkable win.
